This episode was a very intense ride of emotion. I was very pleased with the way Mellie chewed out Fitz, the way Jake finally told Olivia she was on her own, and I liked the way David gave advice to Susan. Cyrus being back in the White House up to his tricks was refreshing, him pushing Fitz and Olivia into a marriage to get her out of testifying against him. It was one hell of an episode and I was going crazy.
Mellie Grant was the star for me in last nights episode. She let both Fitz and Olivia have what was on her mind and it was amazing. Olivia going to Mellie for help so that she won't have to marry Fitz was a little crazy and I also thought it was unnecessary to tell her that her father was the one to kill Jerry. Yeah Olivia because that was called for in that situation to just tell Mellie after being attacked and caught lying at the trial why not just add the fact that your father killed her son. Aside from that Mellie had a great scene with Fitz where she tells him that she would have been so better off if she never married him. If she would have just stayed away then she wouldn't have been raped by Big Jerry, had kids, lost her career, been dragged through Fitz's affair, or lost her son and had to bury him. Fitz brings up the fact that those jurors are dead because of Mellie, but she throws in his face that if it weren't for him she wouldn't have needed to cover anything up in the first place. Mellie calls Olivia just as she is about to marry Fitz and tells her that she's done it. She released Rowan from prison and it was insane. She tells Olivia that she isn't someone sent to destroy her life, she set her free and was going to make her President. Now Olivia owes Mellie and I am more than sure Mellie is going to cash in on that. It was one hell of an episode for Mellie Grant and I loved it.
I am so glad that Jake put his foot down with Olivia and straight out told her that he was done being that guy. Which I agree with because she chose Fitz time and time again, and then she calls Jake to ask if she would be good at being married. I mean poor Jake was just on the other end of that call hearing someone he loves talk to him about marrying another man. I was screaming way to go Jake during that part. Then when Liv calls him and tells him she is going to marry Fitz, he just says well congratulations. I was proud of Jake, and that just made me want Olivia to turn and pick him instead of Fitz.
Rowan being out of jail now means...Well it means that anything can and will happen now. When Fitz finds out that Olivia went to Mellie to release him things will not be good. My heart is already breaking for the moment he finds out that Olivia rather release here criminal father than marry him. Abby gave Fitz back the ring that he had given Olivia and it was sad seeing that look on his face, but what's his face going to look like when the truth comes out? Mellie let out Rowan after her fight with Fitz, and looks like now Olivia owes Mellie big time. I cannot wait for next weeks episode that is for sure.
Those are my highlights from last nights Scandal. Thank you so much for reading, and hope you tune in for more.
