All I want to do is scream my head off after last nights episode, and I still cannot believe what I watched. It was a crazy story last night, and that ending took me by surprise a bit. So many things were cleared up, but at the same time so many questions were brought up. There were a lot of emotional scenes going on in this one, and they followed through right to the last second of the episode.
Mr. Gold being the clever man that he is thinks of a way to trap stop his father once and for all, and to get Henry back in his body. They need to get the black fairy's wand to make the body switch work, and Gold put a cuff on Pan so that he could not use magic. The switch was successful! Great that is going to do it right? Wrong! When Pan wakes up in Gold's shop he tells Rumple what a mistake he was, and how he just ruined his life. I felt so bad for Rumple, and he tried to hold it together, but when his father is there just basically telling him what a mistake he is, you can see that he wants to lose it. When Pan takes the cuff off because it doesn't work on him and then puts it on Gold, I was jumping back in my seat. From that point on I had my hands over my mouth, gasping over everything. Pan pushes Gold into the shelves and then knees him in the face, and tells him that he is going to kill Neal and Belle because they are so special to Gold. For a minute it looked as if Gold was going to cut his wrist off so that the cuff would be off of him, but he didn't. While Pan was out there freezing everyone and saying that he was going to kill Neal first, Gold comes out saying he isn't going to let that happen. This part made my heart stop a bit because Gold's shadow comes to him holding his dagger, and reunites to Gold. With that dagger and some final words to his son and to Belle, and this whole time they are frozen seeing this happen, but they cannot react to it at the moment. Then Gold grabs Pan and stabs him right in the back with his dagger, then we see his Dad change from Pan to the older man he once was. "Hello Papa" are the words Rumple speaks and of course his father tries to say they can start over if he takes out the dagger, but Gold twists it in his back and a cloud of smoke takes both of them. My heart dropped out of my chest in that moment, and then when Belle falls to the ground crying, and says "Rumple" I was just a mess. She watched the love of her life die as far as she knows, and Neal just doesn't know how to react to it because he spent years hating his father, and now he watched his father sacrifice himself for everyone. Oh Rumple, he is my favorite character! I was really crying as I was sitting there watching this go down. He took out his Dad, and that was such a great freaking story.
I had to talk about the Gold stuff first because that's my man and everything, but now we will discuss this whole going back to the Enchanted Forest business. The only way to stop the curse Pan cast is for Regina to destroy the curse that brought them to Storybrooke in the first place. You also get to see the moment when Mary Margaret gives Henry his story book in the first place, and when he starts to see things for what they are. It was a very cute little scene, and I thought that it was about time we saw it. Regina sees what she has to do in order for the curse to work in her favor, and she is really heart broken about it, but she does it. Just like how she got the curse to work in the first place it took the heart of the thing she loved most, and that was Henry. In order for this curse to work she would never be able to see Henry ever again, that was her price to pay for this magic. That just broke my heart because she just went through all of this fighting for Henry, and now she has to give him up for his best chance. Regina tells Emma that she is going to be with Henry because she is the savior, and she is going to be responsible for him, but everyone else is going back to the Enchanted Forest where they belong. It was so sad because Emma fought really hard to get her family back all together, and now she has to say goodbye to them again, and she is having a hard time with figuring out why this was happening because it is not a happy ending. Snow tells her that happy endings are not always what we expect them to be. They all go to the town line and are saying their goodbyes when Regina tells Emma one last thing. She tells her that she will not have any memory of that last couple years she has spent in Storybrooke with her family, or of finding Neal again or any of that. Since Storybrooke never existed in the first place all the things that happened there didn't really happen either. She also tells Emma that her gift to her and Henry is that she is going to make them have a good life together, she is going to give them memories of happiness. Regina makes it so that Emma never gave up Henry in the first place, and they show the scene where Emma is giving birth to him and instead of looking away she asks to hold him. All of this was a very emotional episode and it was just so much to take in and it brought up so many questions as well.
Something that annoyed me about the goodbyes was Neal's goodbye to Emma, because I thought it would be a bit more. All he says is that he will see her again, and that was it. I expected him to kiss her or something, or tell her that she was the love of his life and all that. Hook's goodbye was the best because he tells her that a day won't go by that he doesn't think about her, and she just replies "Good" I laughed about that in the midst of that sad moment. When it flashes to a year later and I am sorry but I was really transfixed on that cool alarm clock Emma had, but anyways it looks like her and Henry have a good thing going. They live in a nice apartment and are a cute little mother and son family eating breakfast together, but then there is a knock at the door. It is of course Hook at the door telling Emma that her family is in danger, but she doesn't remember anything so he tries to kiss her. The kiss does not go well to say the least and she kicks him in the balls, and it was quite funny to be honest. So now Emma is in New York with Henry with no memory of her parents or anything that had happened a year ago. I didn't even mention that Tink got her wings back, and the blue fairy is not actually dead. Tink destroyed Pan's shadow so when that happened the blue fairy got her shadow back and was not dead anymore. Thank you for reading my long after thought post for the mid season finale, and it returns March 9, 2014 I believe. Oh and look at the new villain everyone! #WickedIsComing
