I started thinking about One Life To Live recently while watching General Hsopital and I remembered how much I loved that show. I use to watch it everyday and would be so pissed when I missed an episode of it. I was looking up clips from OLTL on youtube and was laughing so hard because of my favorite character Todd Manning is one crazy son of a bitch.
The show had gotten cancelled in January of 2012 and it was depressing for me to see it end I had been brought up watching soap operas and OLTL was a big one for me. There were a lot of major storylines that were being brought about toward the end of the show. One major one that I really liked was the two Todds, they were twin brothers! Roger Howarth who played Todd Manning first was replaced when he left by Trevor St. John the story behind that was Todd was away and then he came back but he had plastic surgery done so he looked different. He was made to look like the brother of a sadistic man and it was working for a while he was going on with life then everyone found out that he was Todd Manning. Todd was forgiven within months of the truth coming out and he was with his Blair who was also the mother of his children, then as of course it is in soap opera land nobody can ever be happy for more than five seconds. Todd was raped by a crazy woman named Margret and she got pregnant with his son Sam, at first he didn't want the child but then he came over it and brought his son home to his family. Todd was not a nice guy he was involed in the rape of Marty Sabrooke who was later on in the series the mother of his daughters boyfriend which complicated everything. At the end of the series Roger Howarth signed on to do another show so they had to come up with a way to make room for him which was really good how they did it. Roger was the real Todd, and Trevor was put in the role of his twin brother Vitctor Lord Jr. Their mother Irene Manning had held Todd captive for years letting Victor have his memories and live Todd's life for him. It was quite insane while I was watching it and I was bouncing off the walls with excitment. They were full of hatred and Todd wanted revenge for the way Victor stole his life. Todd killed his mother in cold blood, then did the same exact thing to his brother Victor. Tea whom was married to Victor because she thought he was Todd but stayed with him because of how much she loved him as Victor. Tea was upset about the death of Victor, she held him in her arms as he died that night. I for sure thought it was the end of Victor Lord Jr, only it was not the last time he would be seen! At the very end of the last episode Victor is tied up and being held hostage I loved it! I really wish it would have been continued online but it did not work out that way.
There is a lot more to the story of Todd Manning like his wives, his kids, and his job. I could go on and on about this soap opera and I have before. The complications of the soap opera storylines is beyond me, and I go back and watch from years ago and I am always amazed by most of the storylines.
