Psych-o's we are hitting the last run of episodes of this wonderful show, and last nights episode became an instant favorite. I loved the whole episode and the flashing back to 1967 was so well done.
Kirsten Nelson directed this episode in which her character Chief Vick is saying goodbye to Santa Barbra. The team gets a memo saying to meet at the station but none of them know why. The scene when Karen turns around and they get all excited was one of my favorite moments. Too bad she is just there to tell them she has taken a job in San Francisco, and will be leaving the SBPD. Lassiter of course asks who is on the list for being the new Chief, and Karen tell him that she made sure his name was on it. They shared a group hug, and Shawn tried to take the fish that sat on her desk. Each said their goodbyes but Juliet got more than just some kind words, she got a job offer.
Lassiter goes into his meeting with the Mayor but it does not go how he intended. Lassiter ends up spilling some water on his pants making it seem like he had an accident, and the Mayor just tells him to leave. During the meeting however the Mayor mentions the unsolved case of his Uncle's murder, and that gets Lassiter thinking. So he calls in the team to help him figure out the murder on this one, and it is no surprise that they all are willing to help.
I really liked the look Lassiter was sporting in the flashbacks as Archie in 1967. I mean who didn't think that was adorable? It was a dorky look and it suited him perfectly. It turns out that Archie was in love with a mob bosses girl, and that doesn't usually pan out. Lots of things seem to make sense but then they got into the Mayor's house to look at his Uncles things. That is when they found the tapes that he with proof on them, and the Mayor was more than pleased with Lassiter's work. It was like that Detective Carlton Lassiter became Chief Lassiter.
As Chief Lassiter had to make some hard choices and that was a bit of an emotional scene. Lassiter and Juliet had the sweetest moment, especially when he said she was so important to him. I was in tears by the end of that scene and that takes my vote as the best scene of the episode. Juliet in that moment decides to take Karen's offer and go with her to San Francisco, and Lassiter will be the Chief. The Mayor had told Lassiter one of the conditions for him being Chief was to transfer Juliet so that his own people can come into the station. He was ready to give up his dream job for Juliet, and that was so freaking sweet! It was a very good episode and I am so sad that there is only four more episodes to this series, but the next four episodes are going to be just as amazing as the rest.
Shawn and Juliet had some really great scenes together too, especially when Juliet decides to take the other job. Shawn tells her they will do whatever it takes, but Juliet isn't so sure. She tells him to take the time he needed, and to come when he was ready. The next morning instead of waking him up she just leaves, and it was very sad. I really don't want them to break up, I don't think they will but you never know. Thank you for reading.
