To say I am a fan of this awesome woman is an understatement. I mean I'm not creepy about it, but I admire her as an actress, and as a human being. Who didn't want to act just like Mulan when they were a kid? I know I wanted to be treated just like all the boys and defend what I believed in. The next thing I remember seeing her in was ER, and I thought she did an awesome job. She is a very funny person and I always enjoy any interviews she does because I find her entertaining. She also did the voice for Detective Ellen Yin in The Batman TV series.
Of course I really started to just adore her when I saw her in Stargate Universe I wanted to be her. It only got better from there when she was cast as Agent Melinda May on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and just showed how bad ass she is. She is a huge nerd and I love that she is so open about it because being a nerd is freaking cool.
Now I think she is the type of role model people, especially girls need. She is very proud of who she is, and she shows that. I definitely consider her one of my role models in life, and hope one day to be just as awesome. I really want to meet her one day, I will probably pass out but hey it will make a great story.
I encourage my sister to watch AoS with me, because there is a lot of strong female presence on the show. Now before this becomes a whole woman empowerment post let's get back to Ming-Na Wen. I first really started to understand how cool she was in SGU. Hands down that is when I was like okay this woman is pretty dang awesome. Also when she appeared in Eureka I was just happy because I love these shows, and I love her so its double the love and enjoyment. I am a total nerd and having a crazy beautiful woman like this fully embracing the nerd life is awesome.
Okay before I babble more and more, I will let you go and check out her awesomeness for yourselves. Thank you for reading and sticking with me.
